I realized that when people read blogs they want to know about the person “behind the screen.” You may have read the “About” section that tells you about me. BUT, who am I, really? Well…let’s find out…

  1. Born in and live in the same city. I wanted to leave but when I met my husband I decided to stay.
  2. My husband and I have been together since we were 19-years-old.
  3. I am a die hard Daddy’s girl but I’m my mom’s only child and was raised as an only child. I do have sisters and brothers from my father.
  4. I’m an introvert. People who KNOW me truly understand my quirks. People who don’t often get the impression I’m stand-offish or stuck up. I don’t mind being in social settings but after so much time, I’m ready to go.
  5. I love to read, when I have time!
  6. I love to write! Always have! I have journals of poems at my mom’s house.
  7. I’m a romantic and I love surprises! I have a box of love letters from my husband when he and I were dating.
  8. My favorite number is 17.
  9. Growing up in the country was NOT something I particularly cared for because it was so far from the city with no public transportation; ironically, my family and I live 10 minutes from my childhood home. I go into more detail here
  10. Green is my favorite color but I look my best in yellow.
  11. Can watch HGTV and National Geographic all day, uninterrupted.
  12. BlueBell cookies and cream is my FAVORITE ice cream.
  13. I love poetry and Maya Angelou is my favorite poet! My favorite poem is The Road Not Take by Robert Frost because of it’s meaning!
  14. Wasn’t the girl who grew up thinking about my wedding or how many kids I would have.
  15. Went away to college, flunked out, and had to come home to finish. Now, I have one bachelors degree, two masters degrees, and an Educational Specialist Degree.
  16. I decided to go natural in 2016 so I can be an example for my daughter. Her hair journey is important to me!
  17. Growing up, I did NOT want to be a teacher. I was dead set against being in a classroom with other people’s children. Now, I’ve been in the classroom since 2005 and currently serve an a high school assistant principal.

I hope you enjoyed learning about me and reading about my family.
